There is a bicycle lane (not a bicycle path) at the junction:
Bicycle lane line (M5)
“The road marking indicates the boundary between a bicycle lane and another traffic lane. The marking has a length ratio of 1:1 between the lines and the spaces between them.”
According the Ordinance on Road Traffic Definitions, a bicycle lane is: “A separate lane that road markings show is intended for cycle traffic and class II mopeds”.
A bicycle lane does not affect the priority-to-the-right rule. If, however, the road was crossed by a bicycle path, the priority-to-the-right rule would cease to apply.
This is a difficult question that even many very experienced drivers would also answer incorrectly. We have therefore consulted the Swedish Transport Agency about this specific situation. The Swedish Transport Agency’s experts confirm that: the priority-to-the-right rule applies here.
