“When turning left, a vehicle shall be positioned as close to the centre of the carriageway as possible or, on a carriageway with one-way traffic, as close to the carriageway's left edge as possible.” (Swedish Road Traffic Ordinance)
Positioning the vehicle as close to the carriageway’s left edge as possible is the most natural and practical way to position the vehicle. However, this does not work on regular roads since there are oncoming vehicles.
This is an example of one of the driving theory questions at Körtkortonline.se.
