Driving theory questions

What applies at the junction when the video ends?

  • Incorrect: I must give way to traffic from the right, in accordance with the priority-to-the-right rule, because there is no sign denoting a priority road.
  • Incorrect: I must give way to all intersecting traffic, because I pass a pedestrian crossing just before the junction.
  • Correct: Intersecting traffic must give way to me, as indicated by a sign at the start of the video.

At the start of the video, you can see this sign:

A29-1
Warning for a junction where road users on a connecting road are obliged to give way or stop (A29)“The sign indicates a junction where drivers of vehicles on connecting roads are obliged to give way or stop. The symbol is adapted to the conditions of the location.”

Doesn’t this sign apply to the first junction?
– No, the sign is placed after the first junction. This means that it applies to the next junction – i.e. the junction that is shown as the video ends.

As an additional clue, you can also see the back of a Give way sign on the road to the right. It is only Give way signs that have this shape.

B1-1
Give way (B1)
