Driving licence test

You intend to turn left. Which statement is true if a vehicle comes from the right?

  • Correct: I must give way to the vehicle coming from the right.
  • Incorrect: The vehicle coming from the right must give way to me.
  • Incorrect: There is no rule for giving way in this situation.

The priority-to-the-right rule: “When the paths of two vehicles intersect with each other, drivers are obliged to give way to the vehicle coming from the right” (Road Traffic Ordinance).

The priority-to-the-right rule shall apply where there are no road markings, signals or other traffic rules that say otherwise.
