Which amount of carbon dioxide emissions could be avoided annually in Sweden if everyone kept to the speed limits?
“Reducing speeds on the roads is an effective means to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. If everyone always kept to the speed limits, the emissions would be reduced by 700,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide/year. This corresponds to the emissions of nearly 5,000 lorries or more than 200,000 private cars.” (Swedish Transport Administration)
