Theory test

You increase your speed from 30 km/h to 90 km/h. How is the breaking distance affected?

First calculate how many times higher the speed is:

90 / 30 = 3 times the speed

The braking distance [...] increases quadratically with increasing speed.” (Driving Licence Book, 19th Edition, page 120)

  • 32 = 3*3 = 9
