Driving theory questions

You have forgotten whether or not you are driving on a priority road. What should you think about if a tractor approaches from the right in this situation?

  • Correct: 🔒

It is likely that you are driving on a priority road. The Road Sign Ordinance states the following with regard to the priority road sign: “The sign is erected at the start of the priority road and is repeated after each junction [...] if it is not otherwise clear that the priority road continues after the crossing”. In this instance, it is highly likely that it can be assumed that the priority road continues.

There is an additional rule that says that: “A driver also has an obligation to give way to any vehicle when its path crosses their own path when the driver joins a road from [...] a property [...] a path […] or any other similar exit road [...] or from an off-road area” (Road Traffic Ordinance).

In this example, it is clear that the area to the right can be regarded as corresponding to the definitions in the quote above. This applies regardless of whether the road on which you are driving is a priority road or not.
