If the accident has only resulted in property damage and the involved party flees, the penalty is day-fines. It may now also be a matter of revoking their licence.” (Driving Licence Book, 19th Edition, page 255)

Revoking a driving licence “is a traffic safety measure and not a penalty” (MHF). Also note how the Driving Licence Book avoids describing a revoked driving licence as a penalty.

Simplified comparisons:

  • An assault at a gym does not result in the judge sentencing the person to a “revoked gym card”, but rather to pay a fine or imprisonment.
  • Internet fraud does not result in the judge sentencing the person to “suspension from the internet”, but rather to pay a fine or imprisonment.

This is an example of one of the driving theory questions at Körtkortonline.se. There are questions in three languages: English mock test, Swedish mock test and Arabic mock test
