When does the warning cease to apply?
Explanation for the numbers on the additional panel: Starts to apply 200 metres after the sign and ceases to apply 500 metres from the location of the sign. You can also think of it as the sign being applicable for 300 metres starting at the 200-metre mark, since 200 + 300 = 500.
The question is when the sign ceases to apply. The correct answer is 500 metres after the sign. The numbers at the bottom are always the furthest limit and you should never end up with a number greater than that.
200 + 500 is therefore incorrect. “300 metres after the sign” is also incorrect (it would have been right if it had said “300 metres after the 200-metre mark”).
