Theory questions
This is an old question that is no longer in use.
Images may be missing and the information may be dated.
What is the maximum distance that you as a private car driver may tow another private car on a motorway?
You “may tow the vehicle, but you must drive on the hard shoulder the entire time, and only to the nearest exit ramp.” (Du och jag i trafiken, körkortsbok / teoribok [You and me in traffic], 28th Edition, page 261)
This is viewed as being a good compromise. A stationary car on the motorway increases the risk of accidents and disrupts traffic. Getting hold of a tow truck can take a long time, which is why it is good if the car can be towed by another car. However, this type of towing goes very slowly, meaning that the cars must leave the motorway as soon as possible.
Körkortonline.se offers driving licence theory tests in English (free demo test), Swedish (free demo test). This is an example of an explanation of a test question.
There is also a driving licence book online (2026).
