Which road conditions are the most treacherous?

The tricky part here is the word “treacherous”. Defined in Nationalencyklopedin as: “more complex or dangerous than it appears to be.

Review of the options:

  • When the road is in obviously poor condition.
    – The risk is not hidden or more dangerous than it appears to be = not treacherous.
  • At the start of the icy period.
    – You think you have a good grip when you do not = the risk is hidden = treacherous.
  • In the middle of winter, after several days of snow.
    – The risk is not hidden or more dangerous than it appears to be = not treacherous.
