Driving theory questions
What type of acceleration is the most environmentally friendly with a warmed-up car of a newer model?
You should “accelerate decisively and quickly shift to the higher gears.” (Driving Licence Book, 19th Edition, page 219)
The car uses a lot of fuel in the acceleration phase and it is therefore appropriate to keep it as short as possible. There are limits however. A very quick and explosive acceleration makes the catalytic converter less effective, which is not good for the environment.
