Where on the car is a crumple zone?
Crumple zones are found at the very back and very front on the car. These are designed to collapse inward and soften the impact of collisions.
Compare it to dropping an egg wrapped in cotton on the floor. The egg will probably not break since the layer of cotton deforms (crumples) and cushions the fall.
In other parts of the car there is no space for crumple zones (at A and B it is only a few centimetres to the passengers).
