Knowledge exam

You intend to turn left. Which statement is true?

  • Correct: đź”’
  • Incorrect: đź”’

When a traffic signal shows a green light with an arrow outline, intersecting traffic cannot have a green light at the same time.

“The displaying of a green signal with an arrow shall be separated in time from the displaying of a green signal for other traffic that intersects or merges with the path of the traffic regulated by the signal.” (Swedish Transport Agency’s regulations for traffic signals)

You must, as always, exercise caution and pay attention. Unforeseen events could take place (e.g. the oncoming vehicle could fail to stop at the red light, or perhaps the traffic signals might not be working properly). But the basic assumption is that, if a green arrow is showing, the intersecting traffic will have a red light.
