It is Sweden’s national day (public holiday), Wednesday 6 June at 5 a.m. Are you allowed to park here?

  • Incorrect: Yes, as it is a public holiday and the time indication for Wednesdays only applies to weekdays, with the exception of the day before a Sunday or a public holiday.
  • Incorrect: Yes, as parking prohibitions are never in effect on public holidays.
  • Correct: No, since the additional panel indicates that this is not permitted.

”Onsdag” = Wednesday

Time indication (T6)
If a certain day or certain weekday is indicated, the regulation applies to this day regardless of whether the day is a weekday, Sunday or public holiday.

But should the text not be in red for it to apply on a public holiday?
– Normally yes, but there is one exception; see the quotation above. Therefore, if it says “Wednesday 00:00–06:00”, this applies to all Wednesdays, including national holidays.
