Car A intends to turn left. How should the driver place the vehicle before turning?
“Overtaking shall [...] be done on the right when the driver of the car in front is turning left or is clearly preparing for such a turn.” (Swedish Road Traffic Ordinance)
If A is standing as in image 1, the car behind it can pass on the right side without any risk of collision.
If car A is instead placed as in 2, the car behind it may decide to overtake as A is turning, which results in a collision:
