Rant in English
Hi, I know this is an old thread but thought I’d chime in with my 2 cents for any future readers.
I passed the theory test a few days ago from the first go.
I did it in English. And I studied sort of hard for 3 weeks before the exam (at least 2/3 hours a day) and full-time one week before I took it (I even took off from work for a couple of days). Everyone I talked to said that it’s a very difficult test.
I read the official book, read the pdf book on this site, did all the questions on this site twice, did the test on this website an obscene number of times. Bought the Ta Körkort app and read the lessons there and did the test a number of times (the questions there stink tbh, but still sort of helpful).
The questions on the test were a mix of tricky and normal. The tricky ones were even phrased ”stupidly” if I may say. I also don’t see the point why they do this. It seems like they’re testing my logic/comprehension skills rather than that I know the ”rules” or that I can figure out what to do in various random situations.
While doing the test I did not know if I’m going to pass, I was sort of surprised that I did.
I think you just really need to study hard and ”understand” the information rather than just memorize it. When doing the test, you might not know exactly why you think one answer feels correct, but then it turned out to be correct.
Hi!!! i know this was posted YEAAARSSS ago but i just had this issue yesterday and im glad u brought it up. i am a swedish speaker howver my english is better. anyway the translations shocked me into a fail (3 points away from pass).
priority road = ”major road”
unladen weight = deck weight.
thats just some of it which i remember. anyway i literally had to guess for some questions what it was asking and i find it horrible i dont need that negative energy in an exam + it takes extra time. 😢 really unfair

Thank you for this! just posted my view on this thread
If you speak American English then there are some questions you will get wrong due to use of British English, which are not translated the same in the English driving book or practice test. Maybe 3 questions like this on my test.
I passed the first time but just barely. I did the 1000 questions x 2 for practice, took a week off between to see how much I retained. Read the book twice as well.
There was 1 questionable question i received where no answer was correct based on traffic regulations, also a road sign for P+t thats not in the book or practice test.
Overall it was very stressful and I took nearly the full time due to carefully reviewing the questions. Some are not asking if its legal to do but if its appropriate, look out for random terminology regarding that.
To reply to one of the other comments parking vs standing is important to know, offloading in close proximity is standing not parking.
The practice test is great for priority, right hand, stopping, and weight questions. Pay attention to the vehicle stickers for dangerous goods and heavy weight vehicles i missed 1 where they showed the back of a trailer and asked how much it weighed.
