Upplands Väsby - passed on the first try.
I was lucky enough to pass the test on my first try. I’d like to share my experience.
Before taking the test, I had thorough training at a driving school—it took about 20 lessons. Since I already held a Chinese driver’s license, I had to adjust my muscle memory and driving habits. In fact, the training took longer than I had expected.
This is my exam route today:https://maps.app.goo.gl/xNRYKw4945MiocmC9
During the test, you’re allowed to make minor mistakes, as long as you don’t repeat them after being corrected. This happened to me during today’s test. There was one instance where I changed lanes without turning on my left turn indicator. The examiner promptly pointed this out, and I paid more attention to this during the rest of the test.
I think it’s also a good idea to actively report minor mistakes to the examiner if you notice them yourself. After exiting the roundabout, when both lanes allowed me to go straight, I accidentally entered the left lane. I proactively told the examiner that this was a mistake on my part, and I found an opportunity to switch lanes right after passing the first traffic light. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the examiner give a nod.
After the test, the examiner told me that although there were a few minor issues, because I had always taken the time to observe my surroundings before taking any action—checking my rearview mirrors, checking for blind spots, and checking all traffic at intersections—he felt I had developed good habits, which is what matters most. So he passed me.
