Manual car, started learning in Sweden, took around 40 40-minute lessons total if I’m reading my history right
Sadly my school refused to book me with their car until I do their test drive perfectly, so I had to book myself to avoid waiting extra 1.5 months.
Well, turns out manuals are ridiculously different in the way they control. I do stall the school car every now and then, once, MAYBE twice during 80 minutes. I stalled the traffikverket car (Volvo XC40 by the way) at least 4 times. Needless to say, I was not passing this one. Another consequence is that because of this I was super gentle on the clutch and didn’t reach speed quickly enough after traffic lights or intersections, which was also noted as a problem.
Another thing, clearance from pedestrians on quiet roads. As far as I understand, just take the whole carriageway if there’s no oncoming traffic.
Finally, I got tripped up by Swedish ”drive safely” under the 30 km/h signs, because I know there is one sign in Swedish that means ”this road is only for those who live on it” (if someone can point out what it says exactly I’d be grateful) and I thought that might be it, so I slowed down to see if inspector reacts, and so basically ended up stopping, which is a big no-no even in an empty road.
Barring those, I’m actually pretty proud of my driving, the highway and parking I did great if I do say so myself.
The receptionist in Farsta couldn’t or didn’t want to speak English, which made my anxiety go through the roof while waiting, but the inspector Susan was lovely and helpful (and switched to English without a problem), no issues with her whatsoever.
Hopefully this helps someone. I suppose this isn’t as relevant for those doing automatic gearbox, but for manual I would highly, highly recommend to use a familiar car. Might be obvious to some, but I really underestimated how much of an impact this has.
One question I have is how to read my results properly.
”Grundorsak till underkännandet är” - does it only list serious faults or all of them?
”Detta får konsekvenser på” - is this just an extension of the previous one? Or it contains something else also?
”Brister har visat sig i följande situationer” - does this have all categories in which the faults from the first list occurred, or any faults at all? For instance, I have roundabouts listed here, but nothing explicit about roundabouts was mentioned to me after the test.

”Grundorsak till underkännandet är” is the main reason for your fail. It can be either of the five main goals such as maneuvering, understanding traffic rules, driving safely and so on.
”Detta får konsekvenser på” is what consequences there can be under the ”Grundorsak”. For example, if you reverse and you don’t check your mirrors properly. That can give consequences when you are required to reverse from a parking lot. If you don’t check properly, you might reverse into another car on the lot.
”Brister har visat sig i följande situationer” is all the faults which has been made during the test i.e roundabouts. There is a list on Trafikverket of all the different traffic situations they are looking at. Roundabouts, left turns, traffic lights, roadwork...
Sorry if my english is not so good and if someone knows better, please correct me! If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask!

I would take the schools advice. You are not ready if you stalled that many times.
