Americans who are taking the tests?

Any Americans here who are taking the SE driving tests? Anyone else find it all completely...overkill? Its just driving....be safe and pay attention its pretty simple. Ive been driving for 15 years now and even when I was getting my license in the states it was very ”Common sense” based, however, still very safe.

I find all of this extremely frustrating with all of these very unnecessary obstacles for a license.....

We have 10 million people living in Sweden and each year about 200 people die in traffic accidents.

There’s 340 million people living in USA and each year about 40,000 people die in traffic accidents.

We don’t want people to have a relaxed approach to driving, that mindset gets people killed.

Not really....

The US death rate in traffic is 14.2 / 100.000
Sweden has 2.1 / 100.000.

So yes really...

Cool. Not sure what youre arguing here...All im saying is its all a bit TOO cautious. over 200 million americans drive a day...its all good......

We have this system of eduucation when it comes to driving because we do not want people to die in traffic.
That you guys have 200 million (actually 340) doesnt matter.. my numbers was per 100.000 and USA is a hell of a lot bigger then sweden.

And if you have been driving for 15 years you should easily pass the sweden exams for driving right? Or is it that hard to imagine that your system for getting a liscense might be to easy and thats why you have 7 times higher death rates?

No, its because we have Millions more people in the ountry. Very safe o drive in the US........All im saying it Sweden in general is very bubble wrapped and obsessed with safety. I drive safe, Im just pointing an observation out.

Just passed my Driving test...Was super easy and simple. Was almost easier than when I took it in the US 17 yrs ago. LOL

Want me to do the calculations in real world numbers?

IF you have a 100.000k people in US 14.2 people would die / year.
IF sweden would have 100.000k people 2.1 people would die / year.

That means...
US has 47,750 deaths per year in traffic related incidents.
IF we apply that logic to sweden with our stats we would have 6.720 deaths with the same population as the US.

So thats a pretty big difference and why is that do you think?
