Reversing in to a parking slot

Assume You are driving in a parking area and asked to park by revering into a parking slot in the right side of you. then driving school guide line is to stop in front of the parking slot turn to left and go forward till you see the right guide line in your side mirror and then turn in to the right and reverse into the slot.

But I am not sure whether we should use the signal indicator when turning left initially. Please clarify this

To my knowledge, you must turn the left indicator when turning left because you must showcase to other drivers that your intention is to move your vehicle to the left side. However, you don’t need to indicate when reversing.
