International License Holders

Hi want to about what happens to the international license holders if in any case they failed the practical test in Sweden, are they allowing to drive with their international license until get the Swedish drivers licence?

I am holding a non EU driving license which is accepted as an international one, but I have the right to use it only for one year and it starts from the date I entered Sweden. After that I need to get a Swedish driving license. If you don´t get it then you risk to find yourself in a situation where police catch you and you get a high amount of penalty.
