Driving theory questions
You have stopped temporarily at the side of the road. Which statement is true when you want to rejoin the road?
In this example, this rule applies to you:
“A driver may only start from the side of the road [...] if it is possible to do so without causing a hazard or an obstruction to other road-users.” (Road Traffic Ordinance)
The priority-to-the-right rule does not apply when your car is stationary at the side of the road. Neither is this classed as a changing of lanes, because the side of the road is not a lane. You will be ‘starting from the side of the road’, and must therefore comply with the legal text above.
This is an example of one of the driving theory questions at Körtkortonline.se.
There is also a driving licence book online (2026).
